About Justin Marney
Born and brought up in Liverpool, Justin qualified as dentist from Manchester University. It wasn’t long before the bug of adventure raised its head and he joined the Royal Navy and served for 7 years home and abroad, little did he realise that over 20 yrs later he’d be planning to cross another ocean in something a little smaller than a warship. Since walking the 270 mile Pennine Way at 16 he has continued to challenge himself for over 30 years regularly taking part in endurance events. He has completed in numerous Ironman Triathlons, long distance bicycle tours, ultra running including the infamous Marathon des Sables and many others. It was only a matter of time before the call of the sea would see him taking on one of the toughest challenges on the planet – rowing an ocean.
Justin lives in Torbay and is married with 3 daughters.
About Azud Irshad
An active person by nature, Azud dedicates his entire day to work and fitness. He trains in the gym and runs every day, and his diet remains clean and disciplined all year round. His background is in Rugby and Basketball and excels in distance running. While this will be the first event of this type Azud has ever undertaken, his physical ability, and unwavering determination makes him well suited to extreme endurance challenges.
